Perkasie Borough is about 15 minutes North/West of the Doylestown area. The name Perkasie is derived from a Lenni Lenape word, Pokesing meaning ‘where hickory nuts were cracked.’ Find out more about the history of Perkasie here!
In Perkasie, prices become much more affordable, and you still have great proximity to Doylestown, excellent schools, and you’re are only 15 minutes to Montgomery County. This page will be a great resource is you’re looking to move to the area and need help finding a home.
In town living features many charismatic Craftsman style homes, Cape Cod style singles, and Townhomes. Brick and stone exteriors are common.
Downtown has been growing over the last couple of years. New commercial space, restaurants, and shops have emerged. Within Perkasie Borough limits many new construction developments have started. You have The Fields at Constitution Square (Townhomes starting in the low 400’s) and Cedar Ridge (Townhomes that are in the mid 400’s).
Perkasie is certainly an area great for first time home buyers that want some of the more modern floor plans and efficiency, but who’s budget can’t quite handle the price of Doylestown Borough.
If you are looking for a community with a lot of local events, Perkasie is ideal! So many great things happen all year round…from Santa (The oldest tree lighting in the nation!) to Fireworks to Pumpkins! Perkasie also features a ‘First Friday’ each month. Bring the kids out for crafts, games, music, food trucks & shopping. Biking/Walking Paths are abundant, tons of parks for the kids, Menlo Pool, Dog Park, Farmers Market, fishing in the Perkiomen Creek, and great schools.
Knowing the school district your children will attend is very important. If you are considering a move, then you should check into Pennridge School District.
The Pennridge School District includes seven elementary schools (grades K–5); three middle schools (grades 6-8); and one high school (grades 9–12).
Anticipated enrollments for 2021-2022: at the elementary level – 2,622; in the middle schools – 1,644; and at the high school – 2,346. Total approximate enrollment is 6,612.
The small town of Perkasie, PA packs quite the punch when it comes to fresh, local dining. So, if you’re out looking at Homes For Sale, take a break and check out some of these great dining options! Maize is my all time favorite for the area. Reservations required, BYOB, but probably one of the best dinners you will ever have. Friday lunches with my girls wouldn’t be the same if they weren’t at The Perk! Hawkeyes, The Country Place (you cannot get a cheaper, better meal!), and Rise & Grind are also excellent choices. The Ram located on Chestnut Street is now open and includes space for events & a Roof Top Deck! Ready for a quick treat? Check out Dairy Queen!
Enjoy everything the larger towns have, with half the people! See what’s happening now! Check out the borough’s calendar of events, too. The Perkasie Towne Improvement Association also handles a lot of events in town. Follow them on Facebook.
